PostSubject: Spam-What is it?   Fri Sep 26, 2014 3:24 pm

Hi all,

I thought I'd go ahead and explain the definition of spam, as the community here continues to grow.

Now some are new to the online community and thus may not be aware of what spam is exactly. Basically, when someone says that a member spams, that means that a post is made which is not appropriate to the topic/thread being discussed. For example, if the topic was about your favorite animal, talking about your favorite food would be considered spam. Also, any unsolicited advertising here is automatically considered spam. In addition, any double, triple, quadruple-posting, etc., is considered spam.

What will be done if there is spam?

If there is any unsolicited advertising, it will be deleted right away by a moderator or administrator.

If a member double-posts, those posts will be merged together. (The exceptions are for posting story chapters and possibly reviving dead topics. Dead topics can be anywhere from a week to a month. It depends on what the topic is.)

If a post and/or thread is made in the wrong forum area, it will be moved right away to the appropriate area by a mod or admin.

What can you do if you see spam?

If you do see a member spamming, it is best to let that member know through PM right away. That member may not be aware that he/she is spamming and such matters handled this way can take care of such problems. If that is not effective or you have accidently spammed but cannot correct the problem, please inform a moderator or administrator right away and he/she will take care of the problem right away. Although we do our best to take care of such issues, we may not always be aware that there is spam so please let us know if there is such spam and it may have been missed. Thank you.

In case you need to contact an administrator or moderator:

The following is a list of the current administrators or moderators for the site. Please refer to it if you need to contact any one of us right away for help.
